Mikaela Friedman

Mikaela is new to the Austin area and, recently, relocated from Philadelphia. She attended the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, MD, where she studied Interdisciplinary Sculpture, art history, and curatorial studies Although new to the Sickle Cell Community, Mikaela has been an advocate for ending the stigma surrounding “invisible” diseases for years. She believes change starts with education, awareness, and empathy.  In her free time, she enjoys painting, reading outside, and hiking with her dog, Cucumber.
